The first time I tried it, it crashed my PC.

I decided to try it again, and it loaded up this time. However, I couldn't figure out how to play it. The directions say:

Down - Switches from hover to flight mode and vice versa
Up - in hovermode lifts you upward , in flight mode , activates after burner
Left/Right - change angle of plane (and missile if you are controlling it.
Spacebar - Fires current weapon (can be seen in top left corner)
Shift - Switches from guns to secondary weapons and vice versa.
Up and Down at same time - Ejects player
Arrow keys when landed - chooses secondary weapon
Escape - quits game
'R' key - Restarts Current Level

I'll admit I wasn't looking at the directions at the time, but I'm pretty sure I hit most of those keys and nothing happened.

Is there any way to restart after u die, or do u have to run the game from scratch again?

EDIT: Nvm, just saw the 'press r to restart'

Judging by these comments, I think I need a controls screen in-game.

I have about a 500 mhz pentium with 128 mb of ram.

Okay, I added a timer so that the game is limited to 60 updates a second, FPS is much higher however.

Is there some kind of command-line option that lets me control the resolution? My computer's desktop size is not suitable for gameplay on this machine... and your game just crashes instantly on start.

P3 1ghz
256mb ram
8mb intel integrated

Sorry, I had the games resolution set to the resolution of the desktop when the program was executed, I changed it so that you can set the resolution in the config file that came with the game. Just change the last 2 lines(it should be self explanatory.

I updated the game, now it should run on most machines.

Crashed (got the "this program did something bad and needs to close" screen) after the "Press Enter to begin demo" screen.

I'm running an AMD64 3000+, 1GB RAM, NV6600GT with WinXP SP2.

The Config file just says "9", if that helps.

From the "Click here" option on the crash screen:

The only thing that would bring up that message would be if it failed to load a texture or sound file. Maybe when you downloaded the game it corrupted an image or something.

Very nice game. It took me a while to get the hang of flying the plane. After I did, I had a lot of fun bombing the turrets and doging the missles. I never could beat the first level because I kept running out of fuel, is there anyway to recharge it?

As a suggestion, I think that you should add some type of money system to it where you can uprgrade your aircraft or get better missles or something like that.

Yeah, the next update I upload will have a better, more forgiving control scheme.

You can refuel and rearm your plane by landing on the aircraft carrier.

Thanks for playing

Nice game :)
I would like to have the possibility of an instant restart (without having to tell the game that I want windowed/fullscreen over and over again)

I think I suck at your game but I'm still practicing...

Just played the new version, you made some great improvements. I still don't completely understand how everything works, but it's a very entertaining game. I love the pixel art also. Start up time is a bit long, but the splash screen lets you know that the game didn't hang.

Great work, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks, I've cut down a little bit on the load times since I uploaded the newest version(0.8.1), but they're still a bit long. Hopefully with some more improvements I can cut it down some more.

The whine of the engine noise drives me insane. Other than that, it's very fun flying around and raping Commies.

Yeah, it's a pretty annoying sample, but it's all I could find when I wrote the sound system, so it's not final. Until I find a better one, I'll set the volume lower.

Who wouldn't enjoy that?

Thanks for the Comment

Fun game! But I think I found a bug. It would crash consistently everytime I tried to fly the 'commie Rapier' off the right side of the world. I tested this four times, and it would crash each time. The left side destroys the rapier, but, as I say, the right makes the game crash.

Has anyone else experienced this? HTH :)

Yeah, I just discovered that today too :D. The problem is that the missile isn't destroyed when it reaches the right extreme of the level, and when it tries to reference the terrain it is over, it can't find any (ie. crashes). I fixed it today in my home version, but I haven't uploaded it yet.

Thanks for the comment!

love this game!

alltho the controls screen say ctrl is the hover/flight toggle, i found that shift does that here (norwegian keyboard, could be the reason).

only thing i have a slight problem with is the controls in hover. more specificaly when going near stationary movement horizontaly. you basicly cant tell if the thing is accelerating or not while holding the key down, and suddenly it jumps to and starts accelerating at a rapid pace...

there is allso a issue with firing some of the weapons. i had to hold the b key pressed for some time before the 40mm cannon started to fire, trowing my aim of...

love that laser range finder. makes using the weapons so much simpler.

could i get a similar sight for bombs maybe?

and i found myself using the airbrake a lot. would a toggle key be to much to ask for? having to hold down the down key all the time is asking for accidental ejections...
