I've got the same problem too, but when I start at the beginning a message box pops up and says, "Display mode failed."
I'm using A dell Inspiron 8100. 866 Mhz, 32 MB graphics card, 512 memory, DirectX 9.

Posted - 8/15/2005 7:04:35 PM | boo! Well it takes a little while to load the game.. about 5-10 seconds on my computer, so give it a little time (I should really use a progress bar!)..
oh jeez and I left it on 1600x1200 resolution (just because i was sick of waiting for it to switch when I had to run it over and over) I put it to 1024x768 but I'll work on something so you can pick whatever reso you want! I'll upload the new files right now so give it another shot!

Posted - 8/15/2005 8:27:10 PM | ah great!.. well I'll see what I can do about that. Unfortunately it does require a pretty decent computer to run smoothly.. but 2-3 is pretty bad!

Posted - 8/17/2005 12:55:26 PM | Why is it soo slow?
Are you doing atleast some kind of frustum culling/LOD ?

Posted - 8/17/2005 2:32:06 PM | Yeah i have a draw distance and I only draw around the angle the player is looking at.. I'll work on something to make it run better!

Posted - 8/18/2005 9:06:34 AM | Well I'm glad to hear that it worked for someone! Those stats are about the same as my computer - unfortunately I guess thats just the requirement! Secondary weapons should work with right click - Let me know if it's really stuck maybe I'm handling mouse input wrong. I'll update the system requirements so people can know ahead of time that this game is a computer hog!

Posted - 8/18/2005 2:34:32 PM | This is a pretty good game.
Loading was a little slow, but not too bad...
Using namespace: P4 3.21GHz, Radeon 9200, 1GB Ram

I know loading is frustrating - it really needs a progress bar to keep you motivated. Whats taking so long is actually loading all the music. In my next engine it will only load the music for each level when that level is loaded.
Let me know what you think about it! I know the levels get a little long sometimes because your tank seems to go so slow when theres nothing to shoot!

Posted - 8/19/2005 7:53:08 PM | Hah.. well for some reason it wont build today - but if I can put my project settings back to normal I'll upload the Visual C++ project so anyone brave enough to take a look at the code for this game can go right ahead. It is a mess!

I have one suggestion for you... make the mcg have a range, other than that, awesome game!

Posted - 3/20/2006 9:41:03 AM | Hi!! :)
Pretty cool game. It works fine on my PC (3.2Ghz)
Only the levels are a bit empty.
Try to make some more interesting objects like different kinds of rock/trees/terrain and buildings.
Also add some options for those who only have a Slow PC.
e.g Resolution or Graphic detail.

Posted - 3/31/2006 11:56:20 AM | Thanks for the input! That would be a really good idea to allow users to select some graphics details. I was pretty crappy at making menu's/windows and stuff when I made this game so I couldnt provide much for support like that.
