Looking forward to playing the next levels:-)

Couple of personal comments - adding a way to destroy enemies would be cool, but should be accompanied by all sorts of play-balancing, such as giving the enemies something more to hurt you back.
I would suggest increasing the speed of Bodo - generally i see side-scrolling platforms to be action-driven ala prince of persia (i'm talking original oldschool). so perhaps making Bodo faster / faster acceleration in the air, would give the game a bit of umpf!.

I did have some serious keyboard lag on my Inspiron 6000. This was especially noticeable on the main menu where pressing the arrow would often do nothing, but when it did work, it would sometimes move one spot and others 5 spots.
However, like I said, it's strangely addictive - nice work.

Posted - 7/11/2006 4:06:43 AM | This is an excellent start to a very good game i think :-)
Just some suggestions that i noted while playing the game:
1) You can have bobo kill the monsters simply by jumping on them ala Mario style :-)...BUT This time with a twist....Bobo should jump on the monster AND STAY on the monster for a little while just to make sure its dead :-)....This way you can program some nice patterns of movement for the monsters so that it gets tricky to eliminate the monsters. All sorts of funny sounds can be used there :-)
2) How about bonus little items? Rockets for example...that would rock. Giving Bobo a main thruster so that he could easily fly to higher levels (for a limited period of time of course)
3) Please, please, please correct the behaviour of Bobo when he falls down from a platform. Bobo is heavy but not heavy enough to fall in a straight line!!! The robot has some momentum so it should prescribe an arc as it falls.
I hope these suggestions help

thanks for the nice words and your suggestions!
@Fishy Boy and Anonymous Poster #3:
Yes, Bodo will be able to get rid of the monsters in later levels, as also the monsters will become more aggressive.
@EasilyConfused:
The effect you report is weird, never had it. Perhaps the bitmap got confused somehow...
@8anOS:
Thanks for your remarks!
>1) You can have bobo kill the monsters simply by jumping on them ala Mario style...
I am thinking of something like this. Just shooting the monsters is too boring anyway.
>2) How about bonus little items? Rockets for example...that would rock. Giving Bobo a main thruster...
It's on my list! Bodo will get a new item in every new level. Yes, rockets would rock :-)
>3) Please, please, please correct the behaviour of Bobo when he falls down from a platform...
That's the next thing I will have to do as soon as find the time. It bothers me as well, and quite a few people pointed this out to me too...
4) Bodo wants to let you know that his name is Bodo, not Bobo ;-)

Good work!

thanks for your comments.
You are right, you can't move back and forth in air - because you are not supposed to do that. Perhaps in a later level, when Bodo gets some upgrades.
Which version did you test? The straight drop problem should be solved as of version 0.1a.
