About: A simple 2D overhead racing game, very unrealistic but hopefully fun! Race to earn money to buy cars and upgrade parts to become the world champion! Partly done, partly a work in progress. Listen to the testamonial!

Hey, thats a pretty cool game man. At first the user interface was hard to figure out and I had to refer to your readme file a few times to get the hang of things. I played for 20 minutes until your game crashed. :) Fix the bugs and make the interface more intuitive and you've got a very solid game.

Crashed after only 20 minutes? That sucks lol. Unfortunately the code is so old and poorly documented it would be faster for me to make a new game using the same graphics than it would to track down that problem. I was a little concerned about the UI myself, I'm glad you got it figured out, you should have seen the old one :).

Thanks for playing!

It was pretty cool how you made those command line tools to edit the stuff -- but how did you do the console graphics in Tracked.exe? All I know about console output involves printf...

Right...those tools, I actually forgot they were in there when I zipped it up and submitted :) so those weren't the tools that I used for the final version (tracked is a pain to use, and the engine is nearly impossible lol). I used some windows commands like SetConsoleCursorPosition (can probably find it on microsofts website) to put the cursor somewhere then it was just a cout.

Edit: Just checked and the source code for that is dated october 2001 lol

Very fun game! The interface was a little odd at first, but once I got the hang of it upgrading my vehicle and whatnot was easy. Good job.

The graphics are great! Reminds me of an old Amiga game I want to clone.

The game crashed on me after winning several races. I was flipping through different bodies I could purchase and the graphic for the car disapeared. I went in to start a race and then Bam!

Anyway, it's got the gameplay I enjoy. Kind of like a primitive Top-Gear 3000. The shop character (^_^), bugged me at first.. Keep it!

Hehe thanks. That is the bug that I know about unfortunately, and I think it's in the part of the code so old that I don't really know what the problem could be but I may still look and see if I can fix it. What should be happening is it looses the graphics so it can't display them and exit the game "normally". Fortunately (I guess), it saves right before that so you can start up exactly where you were.

Thanks for playing guys!

Hey thanks! Originally I did want to put in multiplayer mode, but as the project quickly grew to something I could barely finish as it is, I had to cut some stuff ;). I'm glad you like it!

Hi,

This game is great! Addictive from the moment I got on the track. And it has what I look for in every car game - Great Dougheys!

I like the way that the shop really adds some life into the game and if you're stuck on a track it gives you hints on what to try.

Thanks, it's good to hear that someone actually reads what the shop guy has to say :)
