This is VERY cool. I love the explosions. One suggestion, perhaps you could try pulling the camera back a bit when there are a few enemies attacking you at once? I thought the game seemed a bit claustraphobic at times.

Also the second time I restarted the level the cloud and sky textures disapeared , so there were just the ships on a plain white background.

Wow.

That first screenshot was spectacular! I don't have the hardware to play it here, so I'll take a look at it within a week on campus. Nice work, though.

Awesome stuff, had a blast playing. Really nice to see what the torque 2D engine can do in such a short time. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Cool stuff. Though my taskbar showed up on top of the fullscreen mode.. which was a bit annoying. I think this type of game is one of the ideal games where special effects makes all the difference in the world. If you could add in different lighting, maybe do some additive blending on the shots, etc. that game would be pretty cool. Basically take it to a level that wasn't achievable in the past with modern hardware. It just seems to get a little stale after you max out the weapon at the moment. Otherwise though, I think this is one of the best in the GDS.

I'm growing convinced that FenirWolf is the master of the SHUMP

Pretty slick. The boss was awesome. I really like the on screen controls and overlays during gameplay. Some suggestions:

-- The controls feel a little sluggish to me, the ship was kind of slow. It's more of a gameplay design issue but I would like the acceleration and movement of the ship to be faster, even at the cost of more enemies/etc. to balance the difficulty. I think effective controls are one of the most important things in making a game fun.

-- The collision detection with the player's ship seemed a little weird to me. Two bullets passed right through the back half of the ship, and then one grazed towards the upper center and destroyed me. It is forgiving though which helped when I got trapped in a corner and such.

-- The performance on my system was fine all the way through until the boss fired those big red lasers straight forward. My system lagged to a crawl when that happened and came back right after it finished. My system: p4 3.06, GeForceFX Go5200 64MB (laptop), 512MB RAM.

-- More power-ups (shields, invincibility, different weapons) would be great! The variation of enemies is good but they only use a handful of attacks.

Look forward to seeing more of this one.

Excellent artwork, any plans for more levels?

Fantastic! Great game, but jnuccio was right, the ship was too slow. Amazing gameplay otherwise though, very addictive. I found a bug though, I was at the start of the simulation and the robot was talking to me, I started to early before she was done, and the background didn't get rendered for some reason...

Those explosions were the coolest I've ever seen in a 2D. This game is everything I wanted my game to be! Go play Ish! if you want to know what you could've made without any artistic talent or a good game engine. :)
