Yes if you bought the PR6 source you already have access to PR7 beta. You must ask to set up an FTP account and download it since it is not included on the PR6 CD's that ship out.

Deferred rendering lets you have a lot of lights without shadows but this engine still uses shadow maps for each light, so you would still need to use multiple passes to render the same thing using deferred rendering.

D3DX: Unrecognized shader version

You may need to add the flag D3DXSHADER_USE_LEGACY_D3DX9_31_DLL when calling
D3DXCompileShader if any of the pixel shaders are less than PS 2.0. |

We change the website every year or so. It is going to be changed to use server side includes in the future.
As for navigation the red bar under the header shows where you are on the website.
