Sid Meier, one of the most creative, influential, and successful game designers of all time, is most well known for his classic strategy games, Civilization and Railroad Tycoon. Meier has designed over a dozen games, including the award-winning Colonization, Pirates, Gettysburg and Alpha Centauri and founded two companies: Microrprose and Firaxis.
