About:
Icon-based strategy board game based on Checkers, but with a few rules twists. A nice, waste-a-bit-of-time diversion game.

Description
KingMe! Granite Edition started as an experiment when I began to teach myself how to program a few years ago. Essentially, I just wanted to make a checkers game, but other ideas, such as animated icons, internet playability, and gameboard variations, started to show up in my concept. Feature creep eventually ground the project to a halt. As a novice, I went from a simple game concept to something that I couldn't manage. Instead of ditching the game, I broke it into two: the "Granite Edition" and the "Iron Edition." The Granite Edition is the bare bones game, with no real frills other than a changing background, but it allowed me to proceed with a game design suitable for a novice. The Iron Edition, with loads of other options, and more advanced code, is about 75 percent complete, but I haven't touched it for a while. I hope to finish it eventually, as real life allows, because it's a good non-commital game that is actually pretty fun to play.
System Requirements
Direct X 7.0 or greater is required. The game has been play tested on Windows 95 (1st generation Pentium), Windows 98 (Pentium III), and Windows XP (Pentium IV). 13.8 MB of disk space. The download is approximately 5.4 MB.
