The gameplay was really good, though it seemed like I couldn't loose lol (the dealer busted about 8 times in a row.) The only things I would say need to be fixed are the sound effects (the volume for them just needs to be lowered) and maybe a numerical read out of the value of the hand. Oh, and maybe add a higher max, $100 is low stakes and gets old pretty fast.
All in all, good work!

It doesn't appear to be available anymore (it was win95/98 era), but one example is http://pc.gamezone.com/gamesell/p14085.htm
I'll admit that I just discovered your game (via the GameDev e-mail that just came-out), so I'll be trying it over the next few days, but if you're interested, you could add similar training features which would make it possibly something with commercial/shareware potential. If you did this, I'd also recommend making everything playable via the keyboard since when you're training, you want speed.
Again, sorry if you've got any of that stuff in there already - like I said, I've not tried it yet. However, when I saw your artwork and layout, it made me immediately think of the "3D Blackjack Trainer" I spent so much time with years ago :) Ahh... the fond memories...

I'll admit it's not the greatest black jack game... and it's certainly not commercial quality... but I'm just so please with my improvement in vector art that I wanted to share. I have a slot machine I did that I'll probably put out sometime soon. I'm trying to focus on improving my art work, and casino games seem to be a reasonable way to do that because they're easy to write.
As for a book... um... I've actually learned a lot of my flash stuff from a combination of buying a few online tutorials from Cartoon Smart, and just writing them. In all honesty just getting out and writing Flash games seems to me to be the best way to do it... but I did find the Cartoon Smart tutorials a good way to pick up some extra hints, tips, and understanding of how Flash works in general.
