About:
Yet another remake of Pong. This is my first game that I have made. I based this off of a game engine I created which seems to be working pretty well. Keeps track of score too. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I liked the game! However simple it is, it is a step in the right direction, and is also something to be proud of.
Also, I'd like to see what you did for your game engine. I'm currently writing one for SDL and it'd be nice to see what others are doing!
Nice Job again!

I am probably going to release the game engine source code with the Cong game on my next upload. It is the first game engine that I have created so hopefully you will like it. Take it easy. See ya!

Posted - 5/3/2005 7:44:12 PM | I downloaded the game and when I started it, it displayed this message "A required .DLL file, D3DX9_25.DLL, was not found". I am guessing this is because I am using a old Windows 98 Pro Edition, with other things wrong on it.

You need DirectX 9 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx). They also recently decided to fool around with the DLLs so you might need a release made in the summer instead of the latest release.
Very nicely done. Any chance of getting the source? I'd be interested in taking a look!

Posted - 5/13/2005 2:34:43 PM | I am soon going to put the source code for the game and the engine on my website: http://www.liveartsnet.com. I haven't put it up yet because I am currently working on the documentation of the engine, which i will include with the source code. I also need to work on the Cong game more and fix the collision detection. I will inform you when the source code is available on my website and I will probably also put it with the download on the GD Showcase.

Guys, let me tell you that because of internal problems with windows xp sp2 or later, no matter how many times you try to update directx 9.0b to direct x 9.0c it will not work.
I found a very useful site where you can fix this problem: http://gamecrashes.com/4-29-30.htm
