This game is quite efficient, I digged one of my old Sudoku puzzles and it did very well in approximately 5 secs :). I implemented a Sudoku Resolver sometime ago but it ran slowly though produced correct result (hopefully 'cause my laggy computer :-P).

Hmmmm, my local pediodical magazine is still using Sudoku as one of weekly game for the fastest resolver. I wonder the ones who got the prices used one of these programs ???. Maybe not, people like challenging!. By the way, thanks for the program, good work man!

Ummm, does this game come from Japan ?

Thanks. I had to tinker with it a bit to speed up the solving, though to be honest a lot of other sudoku solvers work a lot faster by applying all sorts of clever tricks. You should check out the Sudoku programmer's forum, there's some good advice there. Yes, sudoku does come from Japan. It started there in the 80s but has become popular in the UK only recently.

Just the other day, I myself started a Sodoku solver (at least the algorithm for one). I became stuck though and gave it up. I'll have to try yours.

I think the solver is fast, but give a look to this sudoku (txt file):
..5.8.19.
1.....5..
6....4.3.
......2.8
4..2389..
..894.76.
...613.8.
5..8.9...
..9....1.

more than devil!

It's not too hard to make a decent speed sudoku solver. Check out the Sudoku programmers forum.

Thanks, but I think that one is unsolvable.
