Very good game!

I just beat the game. It is quite a lot of fun, and I love the graphic style you used. Had a very professional feel. I liked how I walked into a room, heard the music start playing and knew I was in for a fight.

My only complaint was the difficulty. Granted, I'm not very good at these types of games, but I did think the game was a tad too difficult in some areas. There were a few times where I was mowed down by offscreen enemies or spawn killed. However, leveling up does go towards balancing the difficulty.

I also appreciated that you added a survival mode and new game+.

Great game overall.

Very refined and complete! I played the game for a half hour or so and, though it was very hard, I think it was a very nice game. I loved the menus - they looked very clean. My biggest complaint is that when you die and respawn the enemy's bullets do not go away and I'd find myself getting shot when there was nobody around. Overall, though, well done.

Awesome work, Rav.

Can't wait for the sequel!

Hi,

real nice game. Only thing that bothers me is being shot at from enemies, that are
not in the screen-area. Therefore it would be nice to have a wider view in order to fight the zombies with a little more system ;)

Really cool game. I had tons of fun, except one problem is you can get REALLY powerful if you save up ammo packs and use them on the really strong weapons. I had 1000 Distractor Rifle shotsk so maybe you should make the ammo change weapon specific. Other than that, it's really cool.

I used all my ammo on the Bonesaw. Well, not all of it. I think I could have gotten up to 15,000 shots on that thing if I used all of it.

Good game! Is that all of it?

I suppose so, though there's also the survival mode. It probably would've gotten boring if it were allowed to go for a few more levels.

Good game

In my opinion:
->Item picking should be auto. There is never a time that you dont want to pick up the item, I just found it annoying.
->Leveling system should be auto as well
->Apatures/doorways are at times hard to recognize. One idea might be to lower the ambient light, then lights in the doors
->Loop the music as it seemed good, then died after the first loop
->The electrity gun sound was the most annoying noise ever

WRONG! I was so disapointed when I finished it. Not because it wasn't fun but because it was done so quickly.

If you polished the game* and added some more content... I would cry of happiness.

*the game is pretty well polished, I just meant make better enemy AI and fix some of the issues brought up (too many ammo clips, etc...)

BTW Rav, I LOVE Glow, been through it several times now :)

great game!!

i agree i would have loved a few more levels! i dont mind the difficulty, or the shots from off screen.. i loved all the different weapons too that was great. from a gamers persepective (i dont program or code at all anymore) this is amazing. kinda reminds me of the old dos game cyberdogs, only this is much better. i would LOVE to see some multi player action for this, either against each other or in survival mode, or even in the regular game.. it would be slick to have like a 8 player lan game going where we would all fight each other..

thumbs up! definetly one of the most entertaining games ive played recently!

thanks,
Mike

Glow is pretty fun and it looks good as well. I thought it was fairly easy (the only difficult parts were the wide, open areas where you couldn't see the enemies, but usually I could just spray some automatic fire around and kill everything). It might be nice if the AI were improved a bit so that zombies would try to follow the player once provoked (this would make the action a bit more intense - as it is now, you can duck behind a wall after firing and be completely safe until you peek out again).

The controls could also be improved a bit. I would have liked to have a reload key (right-clicking the icon in mid-battle takes too much time and is distracting). Also, when changing the key mappings, instead of cycling through each action and prompting the user for the new key, it would probably be better to provide a list and allow the user to select the action that he or she wants to change. There should also be a way to back out of a key change (when I pressed escape it bound the action to "unknown key", when all I really wanted to do was just skip to the next action). The user should also be able to bind keys for showing the character/inventory screens.

Some more polish could probably be done in certain areas, but overall it's a nice game.

I have to differ with some of the comments about being shot off-screen...maybe you fixed it, maybe I was moving too fast. I like these kinds of games, but their one flaw is that most don't have a map. Give it a map and players can make sense of their surroundings while they blast away at the enemy. Maybe just a small one in the bottom right-hand corner that can be accessed like the menus for "inventory" and "character" can be. Also, automatically picking up an item would be a good change, as mentioned before.
Besides that, the game is awesome and I would love to play it when it's finished.

v1.3 Update:

This is a more updated version of Glow; it lets you look around with your mouse, which should resolve many of the "shot from offscreen" problems. Additionally, the save and load game support is fixed, and the ending objective is made more obvious to the player.

The bug with Escape screwing up keybinds is also fixed.
