what button do you press to open doors?

And yeah i also forgot that not everyone likes the mouse as sensative as I do! Heh.. i like doing a 180 without lifting up your hand :)
I'm not at school right now but in a day or two when I go back I'll fix the sensativity and upload it again!
Thanks for the feedback! Try the world editor and see if you can do anything with it... If you're really brave you can even change the terrain by editing the bitmap files, just make sure if you edit the texture one that you only use the colors that are already on it, or the textures will get screwed up!

I liked:
-The combo attacks (single, double or even tripple)
-The push down the hill
-The bow was cool
-The mouse sensitivity is too strong
-You can walk off the edge of the world
-The seems of the skybox could be seen

Q to quit.

Some comments:
- You can save a LOT of disk space by not using BMP for your image files. Consider PNG
- Mouse action is too rigid and oversensitive. Maybe a mouse filter is in order. Or you could attempt a FEAR-like "Aiming Key" that slows down the mouse cursor enough for fine precision aiming at the cost of movement.
- I really like how the jump "feels". It's good and solid.
- Not all of us are right-handed mousers. Please offer arrow key control as well as WASD.
- Slashing things is awesome. It feels good, though the stamina refresh is a tad slow.
- The black "cinema-like" bars around the viewport are kind of distracting, I would prefer it if they were semi-translucent.
- The map editor is classy and is a lot better polished than most people's tools.
Other than that, this is fantastic and I can't wait to see what else you are going to do with it.

I kinda suspended work on this because I've been busy with other things and I still suck at terrain algorithms, but theres lots of good articles about it on this site, and at first glance its pretty confusing.. but I'm sure I'll work it out eventually!

Posted - 10/15/2005 2:37:53 PM | Good job! A few comments:
The mouse is unusable, waay to fast
If I input commands too fast, like *mouse up* *mouse down* *click* *click* *Q*
it takes about 5-8 secs for Q to respond

Posted - 12/20/2005 11:00:26 AM | yeah, holy crap did I do input wrong when I was making this! This is a good example of why you should use like DirectInput instead of trying to get it directly from windows!
Oh well - one day I am going to re-write this so it isn't a piece of crap, but for now I'm going to stay in 2D!
Thank you for the input!

- Didn't know how to quit. Used ctrl + alt +del
- Pretty good graphics
- Should have given some instructions at the start
- Ok for an alpha. What am I saying, I couldn't make better.

By the way, I like the fact that the bow actually bends (in some games they dont). Bow fan here :D. Anyway, nice job overall, keep working on it.
