About:
Mop of Destiny is the story of Jack Scroggins, caretaker of the Palace of Westminster, and his completely unavoidable quest to defeat a suddenly-invading army of shadow creatures. Unfortunately for Jack, and likely the world, he must fight his way through hordes of shadows armed only with a mop and a semi-standard array of janitorial supplies.

How to Play
Note: more detailed instructions are included with the game installation package.
In Mop Of Destiny, you play as the Palace of Westminster’s caretaker, Jake Scroggins, and must guide him through the palace and its surrounding alternate reality to seal up the Shadow Realm and prevent the world from being overrun by Shadows. In other words, it must be a Monday.
Fear: Your status in Mop Of Destiny is represented by Fear. If a creature of Shadow touches Jack, he will become more afraid. The more afraid that Jack is, the farther he will jump back from such an encounter. Also, as Jack becomes more and more afraid, the color will seem to drain out of the world, and Jack’s hair will turn white.
Death: If Jack passes the threshold of extreme fear, he dies and becomes a shadow creature himself. However, if this happens, you (the player) will get another chance. You will revert to the state that you were in when you entered the area that you’re currently in, only you’ll have full health. You will also lose five souls whenever you die, though if you die more than five times in a given area, you won’t lose any more (i.e. 25 souls lost per zone maximum).
Items: Once you get past the first level (the palace itself), you’ll meet up with the shopkeeper, who will sell you items. These are one-shot use items. Jack will, however, always have his mop handy.
Souls: Items are purchased using souls, which you get simply for killing enemies. Each enemy is worth a certain number of souls. These souls are added to your total automatically when the enemy dies.
Default keys:
--------------
There are a few keys that you can use in the game. This section details their use, as well as their default key assignment (which can be changed from the Options menu). A gamepad is highly recommended for play!
Left/Right [Left/Right Arrows] – These simply move Jack to the left and right.
Down [Down Arrow] – This causes jack to crouch if he’s on the ground.
Attack [A] – This causes jack to swing his mop. Can also be used to skip lines of dialog in the cutscenes.
Jump [S] – Jack will jump when this button is pressed. The longer you hold the button, the higher jack will jump!
Use [Left Shift] – This will use the currently selected item. If no item is selected, this key does nothing.
Next/Previous Item [W/Q] – Switch to the next item.
Menu [Esc] – This button is your conduit to the menu system from in game. It also allows you to skip cutscenes. Useful for pausing the game.
Direct Weapon Keys [1-4] – These allow you to direcly select the item you want (instead of having to cycle to it). These keys select, respectively, the brush, the squeegee, the bleach, and the courage (which is the same order in which they appear in the shop).
Items
---------
Once you reach the shopkeeper, you can purchase items (using those handy souls you’ve been saving up). Here is a listing of the items (and a brief but hopefully hilarious description):
Toilet Brush – Formerly used only to clean toilets, these can now be used to clean out alternate shadowy dimensions as well! These get thrown in a straight line towards enemies. They’re somewhat like daggers, only less pointy and way, way more deadly.
Squeegee – This is, by far, one of the funniest-sounding cleaning supplies ever. These can be thrown up into the air in an arc, clearing anything in its path out of the way, as if the world were a giant sheet of glass.
Bleach – Usually only good for cleaning bathtubs and destroying dark laundry, these are also useful for destroying Shadows (I mean, they definitely don’t fall into the “whites” category of laundry sorting). Throw the bleach towards the ground and watch it burn anything that happens through it!
Liquid Courage – Take the edge off a bit with a flask full of goodness. Able to ease the fears of even the most terrified men, liquid courage also tastes good mixed with orange liqueur and pineapple juice.
