Posted - 5/29/2007 10:21:42 PM | I'm always a fan of the post-apocalypse genre, and I like the game concept. The game is however rather unfinished. The weapon is rather strange -- built like an M16 but shoots exploding lasers that are subject to gravity? Also I am unaware of what I am supposed to destroy in this mission -- the counter for Militants never goes down. Is there a way to prevent taking damage when you spawn? You're quite a ways off the ground. Also, if you walk due north from your starting point, you will find an invincible, weaponless, "brainless" someone standing in the waste.
All things aside, it's a nice start. Your first?

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes this is my first game, and yes it is still in development.
I will be adding a kills counter and game cycling over the next 3 or 4 days and the brainless, invincible, weaponless guy will be gone by the next update. As for the spawning, I was going to fix it but then I thought that spawning in real life would probably be traumatic and leave a person somewhat drained so I thought about leaving it the way it is, not sure yet. Over the next couple of weeks I will be overhauling the player and ai character models and will address the weapons issue at that time. I do appreciate the feedback and it will help me to add the polish the game needs.
Thanks.

I do like how you regain your health over time if you wait a bit, that was cool. The sounds is good and the way the militants run look pretty real...

Posted - 6/5/2007 12:01:19 AM | @M./Hardy007 - I fixed the spawning problem and I am just about finished with an updated version with improved graphics, ai, and gameplay. I am trying to post it in the next day or two. I would be real interested to hear your opininions of the updated version once I post it.
@M - I tried to reply to your PM, but I'm new to GameDev and apparently havn't mastered that skill yet.

Posted - 6/6/2007 11:12:17 AM | HEY!
Im looking forward to seeing the update. I played the game again and I have a few more suggestions.
Because you bind the zoom to the 'E' key, you should have the movement binded to the 'W' 'A' 'S' 'D' keys. I couldnt move and zoom at the same time. Also I think the mouse is too responsive to movement.
Could you add a menu option that could allow us to set our own key map and change the responsiveness of the mouse?
The radar is kinda big, but that really isnt much of an issue for now, more of a cleanup for later, but I think the biggest thing to accomplish for your next big update is to set the controls differently.
Post a message or send me a PM when you have uploaded the new content.
FPS FTW!!!

Posted - 6/7/2007 1:05:44 AM | I posted some new screenshots from the updated version and will be posting the new game files Thursday 6/7.
@Hardy007 - The new update uses the WASD keys and I'll look in to adding the ability to customize the controls. I just checked the targeting in the new version and it seems pretty smooth, let me know what you think.
6/7...I POSTED THE NEW VERSION.
