This game had a small amount of the keyboard polling issue that I mentioned in your Bodo robot game, again, primarily noticeable in the main menu. After playing the game and hitting ESC, though, the menu seemed more responsive.
Nice work - I wish I had half the motivation as you producing multiple mini-games like this :)

thanks for testing my games. Yes, the last dot is intended to speed up and run away (they are using the same algorithm as for the ghosts when they are running from you).
The keyboard issue you mention is new to me - tested the game on various machines without any keyboard problems. Are you running any time consuming processes in the background?
Thanks for the nice words, they keep me motivated :-)

I will try the games again, this time checking the system processes and see if anything is odd -- probably in the next couple of days.

I re-tried the games and did not experience the key polling issue, so it must have been the runaway Acrobat plugin in FF that was causing the issue. I guess it's time for a dual-core laptop ;)
Anyway, once again, nice work on Bodo and Pac!

Posted - 10/31/2006 7:29:02 PM | hello there :)
i'm a huge fan of retro gaming, and this took me waaaaay back to my dad's old table-top arcade machine which i used to play when i was like 4 years old! It just brought back some memories of playing the old skool stuff :D
i really like it :) it was quite fun to play. The only thing i'd change about it is the speed issue, maybe if you sped things up a little it'd make a big difference.. who knows, i could be wrong... but apart from that it's a nice little game.
retro gaming seems to be bigger in the US than it is over here in the UK. wish i lived over there dammit lol.
i used to make my own videogames when i was about 15.. after playing this i think i might get back into it!
well, i don't know if you'll get to read this message but keep up the good work :)
Greg.

I'm happy I could bring a bit of nostalgia to you; the old school is clearly the best.
Thanks for playing my game; it will speed up in later levels, I admit the first level is pretty moderate.
Would be great if I made you go back to game programming, but be careful; it works for one or two years, then you get addicted :D
Andreas
P.S. You don't have to live in the US to get some retro game done, I don't either :-)
